It's odd, Sheesh. I don't think the Q measurements given online are correct. If all stones in the bracelet (and I counted 12 in it) total a maximum of 40.3 carats, that is only 3.35 carats per stone. How can a square cut stone of only 3.35 carats in weight take up 3/4" of space? I don't think it is possible. Also, if the fit size is 8", how can the actual length be only 7 3/4" long for what looks like a nice, chunky bracelet? Something is off, and needs correction.

Different gemstones have different carat weights -- so 3.35 carats of amethyst is not the same size by a long shot as 3.35 carats of diamond, for example. Weight is different than mass and size. (Also, BTW, CZs like diamonique are significantly heavier than diamonds).

FYI, There are many calculators online that you can plug in a gemstone, the cut and other measures and compare them for fun.

Well, Sharonrs, the truth is that Judith's bracelet has more silver to it, and the other one for much less money has fallen apart on some, per the reviews for that item. Not saying that I would pay $923, but I wouldn't pay $259 for something that falls apart, either. And, I don't particularly like the anemic lilac shade of Rose de France. I like amethyst to be a healthy shade of purple.

I ordered that rose de france heart and it went straight back. An anemic shade is what is was. The stones surrounding the amethyst in the ring pictured above are Rose de France.

Jersey, I agree with you for the most part- Judith's does have much more presence both in sliver and color. That said, I think the prices for the recent amy and BT pieces have been exorbitant and have priced many of us out of buying. I would love to buy some of the pieces but when they are almost the equal of a mortgage payment they are beyond a simple splurge. There must be some way they can produce some nice pieces that are somewhat affordable and not all DMQ.

I think I'll buy three and stack them.....lol. Terribly over priced for what it is but a stunner at a fair price, about half what they want.

Well, far be it for me to argue with the voice of reason. I know better than to do that. I know that my time would be well spent just shopping in my own jewelry box.

I will say that the recent cutting of Judith's gemstones has been spectacular. That 19 carat blue topaz honker sparkles like crazy, and it just never gets "old." I can only imagine what that new JR bracelet in blue topaz would look like paired with it.

Trust me when I say that if I won Powerball tonight , I would buy every item I like without a second thought- including both the Amy & BT bracelet! As you are doing, I continue to wear my old Ripka tried and trues and love them as much as ever. Her designs are gorgeous.
