Ceramic Watches

Lately, I've been really wanting to get a white ceramic watch, but the really nice ones are expensive. Do you watch experts think this is going to become a classic or is it going to be a passing fad? If it's going to be passe in a year or two, I don't want to spend a lot (I'll take plastic instead of real ceramic), but if it's going to be around for a long time, it would be worth the investment to spend several hundred dollars. Your thoughts?
