I'm thinking of taking some old stuff outside and photographing it like it's in an advertisement. Then I could print some of them out and put them up on the inside of my closet doors or something.

I'm inspired by AliJoi's idea of photographing her fabulous things!

Somebody pinch me. Better yet, don't.

Ten years ago it was easy to get carried away adding to a jewelry collection because the prices were reasonable. The trend I am noticing on many of these threads is that a lot of us are shopping our jewelry boxes and are so darn happy with the pieces we bought ""back then"" and couldn't afford today.

I love Carolyn's new design direction and will continue to purchase a few select pieces from her collections.

Did you all know the Sleeping Beauty mine is closed?

I have friends who did not know that all turquoise was not the same and were completely flabergasted to learn that turquoise comes from different places and in different colors.

I think the Q is just trying to inform all ""those"" viewers.

You're kidding!

{#emotions_dlg.huh} Yes, hon'. I was kidding.

Why is Sleeping Beauty only available in tiny little pebbles? Did any large chunks ever come out of that mine?

Ali takes fantastic photos of her jewelry, and she says she uses a camera phone.

Yes, SB came in big chunks. Maybe they're rationing it? The mine is closed, you know.

It's hard to believe someone would think all turquoise is the same. Not a big fan, I guess? We just take for granted that everyone knows all about it and that's obviously not true.

Juggie - I'm with you - I have the FC and even Victoria Adams pieces - not spending any more money for a good long time --and when I do it will be Am West - it's all beautiful for sure - enjoyed watching but I got a huge tax bill this year and no can spend any more money!!! I've been spending time organizing what I have and honestly it's downright disgusting - nobody should have or needs this much jewelry!! LOL!! I'm going to visit my sisters in Minnesota again next month and they are going to teach me how to sell on Ebay and I am going to sell a lot --anyhow - the show was great - love her with Carolyn and congrats to those who acquired those lovely pieces!!

This is the first time she's been on that I never bought a single piece!! Wow - it really wasn't too hard when I looked around at all I had!!

Hello CL and Jug, boy oh boy, are you both right!!! I was unable to watch the afternoon event, but did catch a few minutes of her middle of the night (for us Easterners) event. This morning I laid out my CP/AW treasures and they should last me for a lifetime, if I were reasonable. I need to give my buying habits a good long rest. Like Ali I have started to photograph all my goodies (iPhone does well with closeups), and put them in a special album. When the temptations strikes .... and I know it will .... I intend to pull it out. Lol!

A note on the goodies: I really love the dragonflies, they look almost real. They remind me of an old CP pin I once saw on eBay - the same fluid design. Do you happen to know/own that one? I used to wear pins on business suits but my lifestyle has so changed, that my beautiful pins are rarely used.
This summer I intend to give all my Veronica, Roderick, and other goodies a good workout.

Have a happy Friday All Sistas! Haca

Hi everyone - yes Haca - the dragonflies are gorgeous - I love critter jewelry but only in the SW way - the fancy ones that Chuck is doing on Shop leave me cold --anyhow wanted to share a funny thing that is happening (just wish I would have done it sooner so I wouldn't be so broke) I've spent the last 4 days working diligently on sorting out my jewelry and it is almost like buying new pieces - I have been discovering things I forgot I even had and appreciating them all over again -Jug is so right - if you get them out and pair them up in different ways you get that same excitement you get when you buy a new piece --and honestly - I wasn't even tempted with the new pieces in the show - I could appreciate them but that was it!! and also it is keeping me so busy that I am staying off Ebay!! I will be on this project for the next 2 weeks - trying to get my house in order before I go to Minnesota!

Have a great day my wonderful ""sisters"" - it really helps sharing my ""addiction"" and ways to curb it with you!! LOL!

It sounds like the sista's who were able to watch enjoyed themselves. I was at work. It's just as well - I did a fair amount of shopping at the last AW show.
