Hi everyone! I am not much of an HSN shopper but I did see that Carol Brodie was on this past Saturday and I was wondering about the quality and value of her pieces. Has anyone here purchased from her and what did you think of the quality and value? Also - who else on this "Southern Channel" would you recommend for genuine gemstone jewelry? Colleen Lopez maybe?  Please let me know what you think! Thanks in advance!

If you go on the jewelry forum you will find a lot of info. on her items.  I think they are over priced but a lot of people love her pieces.  The jewelry form is called sparkle and shine.  the ladies on there are very nice and they will answer any question you have regarding jewelry.  Collen Lopez has beautiful pieces.  Enjoy:-)

When black spinel was on every jewelry item everywhere, I couldn't find a skinny bangle. I wanted it tomstack with other bangles that go with my Bixby skull ring.

Q had nothing, so I went to HSN and searched for black spinel bangles.

Carol Brodie came up with a set of two skinny bangles--perfect. They also had matching skinny eternity rings. I bought the bangles and the rings--really a statement. The jewelry is not flimsy or silicone filled or clad or coated. It's sterling silver with the stones sparkling and perfectly placed. I don't remember the price, but I know it was reasonable. I enjoy the set so much that I wear the pieces often and not just for Halloween. I have found no imperfections and have no complaints about Carol Brodie's items.

Unless the have a GIA or even a AJP; they only know what they are being told. There are a few that have GIA's, Colleen is not one of them. I don't even think Carole Brodie is. Colleen is has been groomed and polished and, she likes jewelry. Well then,...GO LEARN ABOUT IT! To my knowledge Shibon (?sp) Sarna is a GIA and maybe Bill G. Carole Brodie's jewelry is sub par. It wasn't so bad when the metals were reasonable. But she's selling gold plate semi precious, for the most part.at the same prices. I have a few of her pieces but not any in the last few years.
There are great books on gems and jewelry which can teach you volumes. And, the GIA offers online classes at many different levels.
Hope that helps.

I think her jewelry is way overpriced.  I bought a ring on sale once and it was nothing special - tiny stones with no shine and a flimsy mounting.  In  fact, I didn't think it was worth the sale price, let alone the full asking price.

Carol Brodie also sells in Canada on TSC. Her line gets a lot of negative reviews.

Overpriced, thin metal with gold plate. Sterling silver is thin also.

Purchased her version of the Diana Ring.  Way overpriced for what it was. I sent it back.

However, she has on occasion offered gold jewelry and that was a different quailty and much more expensive.  She also has offered decent watches with Swiss movements that are far better qality than the overpriced HSN disposable fashion watches.

Most of the time, HSN is overpriced. However, when they have a sale, they have a true sale. That might be a better way to sample Rarities.

Another jewelry line I do not understand is the Hirkimer jewelry.  Tiny pieces of Hirkimer with a big price.
