I did bring it to my trusted local jeweler and they do not know what it is. It is a dull looking olive color like Denim & Co. pants.

Re: Can you tell me what stone this is in my necklace?

In my opinion, if you sell it on E-Bay, I wouldn't disclose what the pale green stone is just to protect yourself.   I would say, not known but if you have verification that its set in white gold (something stamped on it), I would emphasize that.

It's an attractive necklace and I'm sure it will sell, how much to ask for?  You got it as a gift so anything above free and your costs to sell it would be a bonus.

Re: Can you tell me what stone this is in my necklace?

@Squirrel Lover  I've been collecting gemstones for 26 years and I also have several gemstone books.  It's pretty difficult to determine for sure just from a photo, since there are other gemstone properties besides color that need to be considered.  The only stone I've seen that comes close in color is Moldavite.  What makes that stone recognizable is the vitrious luster and the little air bubbles you can usually see inside it.  It doesn't have a bright sparkle.  There also is a significant possibility your stone could be a simulant.  It definitely is not a Zultanite (Csarite, Turkizite), as was previously suggested.

There's only one person I'd ask and that's Sammycat.  She's extremely knowledgable in the field of gemstones.  You may want to page her.

This is coincidence but Judith Ripka just posted this:

This is exactly what the stone in my pendant looks like!

Moldavite was my guess if it's got inclusions.

Could be olivine or peridot.

I'd say olivine.  Peridot is more yellowish.

@Squirrel Lover,I sold fine jewelry for almost five years and it looks like peridot and can have different depths of color.  Some are brighter, some are deeper.
