@gardensla   There's a stone I've worked with called Bronzite....not very common. Maybe google it and see if it's close. It's difficult to tell in a photo. Maybe this will solve the puzzle.

It is called coffee obsidian.  It is a very pretty stone.

@gardensla I think you posted the back of the pendant, if that was lettering on the right side of the pendant.  So maybe you are just showing us the backing.  What is on the reverse side?  If nothing, maybe the stone fell off and you are just showing us the backing that was glued to the frame.

Here is a pendant for sale from Taxco and it states that it is coffee obsidian.  The ring was on Etsy and they use both coffee and mahogany obsidian in the description.
