My ruby is oval and the emerald is a square octagon. One my close friends is a goldsmith and he has looked at them. I don't wear rings so the only other thing he could do with them is make them into pendants which I won't wear. That's why they are still in a safe. If I didn't have such bad arthritis in my hands, then maybe I would consider them in rings but I can't wear rings at all. Darn it.

Sorry, only three years later The stones were good, the setting was not good. I should of kept it probably, but at the same time I did not buy loose stones, there is so much work and extra expense.

Sorry, I don't buy rubies that are set in silver and topaz instead of diamonds. They also have to have a lab certificate. The settings diminish the value of the ruby.
