Has been featured from time to time but has become very expensive, especially piece with blue or purple in them.

It comes from a fossil found in the Rocky Mountain foothills of Western Alberta, Canada.  Here is a fossil as mined and a pendant that was featured on HSN.

I saw the "raw" version while visiting the Chateau at Lake Louise Hotel in Banff National Park.  They had one like the picture laying flat on a stand outside the gift shop in the hotel.  I bought a ring.

Beautiful specimen and pendant!  I've always loved this prehistoric dazzler!❤️

To get a piece with all 6 colors is a real treasure $$$

@Kachina624   Wowza!  Those are amazing pictures. I never knew that an ammolite fossil could be so big.

The pendant is gorgeous. I have two pieces of ammolite

in my rock and mineral curio.  I got them online from a vendor in Canada.

One is a teeny orange piece. The other one is an elongated triangle shape with rounded corners, about 1 1/2" long.

Green and teal are the prominent colors and there is also a colbalt or violet blue and some purple. It has a few little dots of orange. It is polished, but I never thought of having a pendant made. I didn't want to make a wire wrapped pendant that would cover the colors.

I love Ammolite. I a few years ago, I splurged on a pair of Ammolite earrings from Samuel B on ShopHQ. I love the.

@Kachina624 - Now THAT'S an ammolite!

I don't have any in rainbow colors, but I think I actually do have one in a pendant from a craft show decades ago, and it is in shades of brown, which is not nearly as exciting.

@Jersey Born.  I have one of those too, a ring from a crafts show.  It's a different but similar animal.

That large piece is stunning! I have an ammolite pendant with the full range of colors, but it is very small and was still quite expensive. QVC had a stunning pendant a few years ago that I wanted to purchase but couldn't justify the expense at the time, even though the price was comparatively good; I wish I had made the investment and won't pass up similar opportunities in the future.
