Hey ~ The 18kt gold on BB's jewelry...Is that plated on sterling, or is it actual gold. I don't like the plated stuff because it eventually rubs off. I have my eye on a few pieces. TIA

They make a big deal of saying it's real gold, but it's a very thin layer that's attached to the silver base. It's thicker than plated, so it shouldn't wear off.

I have purchased more Bixby QVC pieces at T.J. Maxx than from QVC itself. You could take a look at TJM first before making the leap with the Q.

"18K yellow gold flowers" Much discussion has taken place re this issue.

Have collected her pieces for over 10 years now. Last conclusions reached I knew about were that the flowers are solid 18K gold. I have not personally hacked one in half to see.

I would be interested to know where the info "it's a very thin layer that's attached to the silver base. It's thicker than plated, so it shouldn't wear off" came from. I guess its a possibility, hope not!
