BANGLES???

I bought the new Michael Dawkins bangles in small and they are beautiful. But, I have never had a bangle as my wrist is so small. How should these fit? Are they suppose to be looser than a regular cuff or bracelet? I can get them over my hand and they do hang down below the wrist. I would appreciate your answers.
