Well, I am tardy to the party as usual, but I'd like to post anyway, if anyone is still interested in this thread.  I've bought "as is" jewelry a few times (I never buy anything but jewelry at the Q) and my results have not alwys been happy.  I've purchased chains that arrived broken twice.  I've also gotten jewelry that was obviously returned many times over, because it arrived in torn, dirty pastic bags looking shopworn and tired.  More often than not, the results have been good but just be aware that you may get something unexpectedly tacky, broken or even wrong--then it is on you to have to pack it back up and trek down to someplace to send it back--and also insure it when you do.  I made that mistake once.

I've purchased a few "as is" items.  There was only one time it was an issue with jewelry, and that was a Diamonique bracelet that had a terribly bent safety clasp (which I was able to bend back to the point where it works).  It was also the wrong color, I'd ordered the rose gold and they sent yellow gold, so I have it for my daughter now.
