Whether I'm buying or not I love the gem events!  I love sterling and gold two- tone pieces and would love to see some mixed with beautiful gems.

Re: Any Ideas on Gem Day TSV?

I love Gem Days. They are the only times I watch a full hour of Q programming.

Re: Any Ideas on Gem Day TSV?

I will check it out online. I won't watch if it's all silver or if it's their super expensive gold. I still think Q is missing the boat when it comes to mid priced gold, with or without gems.

Am disappointed in gem days as the Hosts  do not dispaly the rings so that one can see  the inside of the setting or  know the quality of diamonds in the settings . Who wants an expensive gem with yellow colored diamonds around the stone .

I find the Hosts to either be completely ignorant of how to display  the " vault " gems with high price tags or they are purposely  not displaying the rings . They have that Gem Expert , but they limit his time to talk or they  distarct him by only saying the " gem is so beautiful "  I was to know how many carats a stone is , not just see a Hosts flicking her hands around.

They need to offer more earrings  that are not just post clutch style . Looking for  1- 1/12 inch earrings

Re: Any Ideas on Gem Day TSV?

@CalminHeart   When I was still buying more jewelry than I needed, except for some colored Honora pearls, I didn't buy the middle range.  Not here but also no place else -  and that's saying something because for about the last 10 years I was buying jewelry, most of it I bought locally.

During the 2008 market fall, one of the better local jewelers stopped adding to its great gem offerings and brought in a whole mid-range collection.  What they wanted to sell between 3 and 6 hundred just looked cheap.   They added lots of interesting one of a kind pieces some time later, but nothing special in any price range except for their diamonds.  Those tended toward engagement and wedding rings.  No interest here.

I will undoubtedly watch some gem shows -- and I will undoubtedly not buy.

I'm ready.  Far better to watch sparkling gemstone jewelry of a wide variety than a lot of overpriced electronics, clothing and household items.

I think we'll see alot, too much IMO, of JAI sterling silver w/ gems....maybe even the TSV.

He seems to be the jeweler who's given the most air time.
