I was flipping through HSN's program guide and noticed that now Nicky Butler has 2 hours of bronze jewelry scheduled for this afternoon. As far as I know, this is a first for him. I'm not a huge fan of his (only ever bought a few pieces and sent back 50%) but it is really sad to see yet another "designer" whose mainstay was silver and gemstones now turning to bronze. His prices have gone up dramatically and now he's dropping the silver entirely. I know silver has gone up but I personally believe that this reflects a refusal on either HSN or the designer's part to maintain a particular profit margin. I also think it's interesting that this is now like the third or fourth line over there that has gone bronze. It's good for my purse, as they don't really lower the price, just the quality of the materials, but I do think it's unfortunate. Maybe incorporating a few bronze pieces would be o.k. - it's a nice esthetic - but two hours! That's a bit much.
