We called them anklets and now that you mentioned it, I don't see them anymore. I haven't for a long time. When they were in style, I liked the look of a delicate gold chain around an ankle. But my ankles were too thick. Toe rings were popular for a while but I can't recall when I last saw someone with a toe ring. That's not to say that women who like those things shouldn't wear them. It's all about our own personal sense of style. Personally, I'd rather see a woman with a quirky or unique sense of style than someone who looks like a department store mannequin.

I like ankle bracelets. I wish could wear them but I have canckles and the last thing I want to do is call attention to my feet. Those of you who like them and can wear them, enjoy!

Ankle bracelets were the sign of a ""Pro"" in Europe..

the Caribbean and many Latin Countries...

Some women from the USA who were approached by

men... were insulted and bewildered by the request and

did not realize that their ankle bracelets were doing their

advertising...

Right. And what year was this? Before or after Marconi invented the radio?

The same "rule" applies to red lipstick. Or at least it did, thousands of years ago in ancient Egypt.

Stay away from ancient Egypt if you like wearing red lipstick, that's my advice {#emotions_dlg.laugh}

I used to wear them 10+ years ago. Back then, I never knew they had negative connotations. LOL

I agree, I am 80 and I love to wear them in the summer. I do not really give a rats patootie what anyone else thinks about them not being in fashion now.

One of my daughter's who is an Attorney (28 years old)

wore red nail polish to court and was told by the female

Judge that she was surprise at her for wearing bright nails...

:

I was surprised at that because the two of us went

together to have our nails done...and I thought they

looked pretty...
