I find it to be a very beautiful ring!! My question is, can someone explain to me the difference in the two different lapis blue stones that this ring is available in?? There is no live demonstration of the ring on QVC or on her website, so looking the hand model who displays the ring in the photos, which of the two blues is she wearing?? Thank you, MJ
So for Lapis Lazuli, you should be looking for those Pyrite speckles; you are looking for those little gold speckles. Sometimes layers of Pyrite within the Lapis, and those are really desirable in Lapis. Now they can be found in Sodalite but not in the same quantity; it is much rarer.
Sodalite is a slightly darker blue. It often has black and white veins and sometimes red veins. And has a bit of a different look.
IMHO, she is wearing the Lapis.

@MILKI - IMO, that's poor information on the website. The model appears to be wearing the Lapis - which is the darker of the two blues.
If you look at the photos in order: the first one is "Blue Lapis" (which AW has also called Denim Blue Lapis). The next photo is Lapis - the darker color blue.
I have jewelry from AW in both shades of blue and I like them both. It's just a personal preference.
It's a shame there's no video for you to look at.

That is a very good idea since the ring is of reasonable price. Thank you, I will do just that!! MJ

I have lots of southwestern jewelry from Carolyn and others. The first blue one is slightly lighter and is called "denim" lapis. The other blue is slightly darker and is the usual lapis color of lapis. I have many pieces in both colors of blue. Both are beautiful I think the model is wearing the lighter denim lapis. Sodalitem mentioned by someone here, is anothr blue stone but is a much darker blue.

The darker stone is regular lapis lazuli. The lighter stone is lesser quality lapis that many people prefer because it goes nicely with denim, in fact it's called denim lapis. Dark navy blue vs sky blue, which do you prefer?

I forgot to mention, I have this ring in Rhodonite.
Very beautiful & well made.
Bold & showy without being gaudy.
I'm tempted to order another one.
Which color????
Mmmmmmmmmmmm........
