Re: Almost threw out a beautiful ring, that was just needing to be cleaned.

My son's wedding ring slid off his finger in the sea while on his honeymoon.  He was devastated.  Two divers from Canada heard about it and secretly dove for 4 days looking for it.  About to give up, on the fourth day, one of them found the ring laced around a piece of seaweed on the bottom of the sea.  Imagine my kid's utter surprise and gratitude when a complete stranger knocked on his door and presented him with his beloved wedding ring!!  Now that's a story to tell his grandchildren some day!!

@QualityGal : I'm glad you didn't do that. A tarnish in a ring shows up that is sterling Silver Silver in that metal, not a cheap one. If a piece of jewelry is ruined you can take it to repair it.

Post a picture of your ring.

Years ago a student at our elem school brought her mom’s nice size solitaire engagement ring to school to show her friends. Teacher noticed a small crowd gathering around the child, obviously looking at something interesting, and asked to see the item.

Needless to say, the mom was thankful for this particular call home!
