Alberto Milani makes his QVC debut

[ Edited ]

Apparently has purchased a new line of 14K gold and diamonds from Alberto Milani.  He's a kind of Italian American entrepreneur.  One of his business is gold/diamond combo (although he makes 18K too)  Anyway, as you might suspect he's kind of expensive.  One bracelet is just shy of $10,000.00.  This one:J442909 in 14K.  Can you imagine this in 18K?

@songbird   WOW!!! This looks like the bracelet Hoda wears but in tri-color gold w/o diamonds. $10,000.? OMG, QVC is always saying jewelry is not a great selling item and then this item?

His tubogas pieces are just stunning. I have had my eye on the matching ring for a while.

They are "fat" pieces, LOL.  Very thick, heavy pieces.  Italian American, hence the 14K jewelry. To see his other pieces, he has a web site.  Also on QVC, just type in Alberto.  It will take you his other QVC pieces.  As for 10K, this is normal when you look at Gem Shopping.

@Shanus Prices have really shot up. I have a single tubogas bracelet I bought in the early 2000's and it was maybe around $300, a fraction of the price. No diamonds though.

@Shanus lol --   I can't imagine that any company even wants to sell very many of these beautiful but pricey pieces of jewelry.  Part of the appeal of plenty of high-priced items comes from their exclusive availability.

Early in the 2000's when Armani wanted to expand its store on Palm Beach, the town board didn't want to approve the expansion unless the owners provided for at least 20 new parking spaces.   Their reply as I remember it was that they didn't need more because on a typical day, they saw 12 or fewer clients.

None of the gram weights are listed, I do not know why.

I had to look up the bold gold earrings elsewhere to see they are less than six grams. Pretty, but vastly overpriced.

I bought a similar pair from Stefano on Shop HQ just this year for less than 400.00, the same gram weight.

I remember when the Buccellati family introduced the Genesi line here on QVC, cheap versions of the magnificent original designs.  They are all on clearance now.

Some luxury vendors have been hit hard by the worldwide economy. I suppose Milani thinks he will sell more by working with a company like QVC.

Only buy it because you love it, not because you think it is a good value.

The gold jewelry is overpriced.  NOT 24K pure gold.  It's real wealth.  It always increases.  We invested in a gold mine.  We're very happy it goes up.
