ANYONE FAMILIAR WITH SAMUEL B JEWELRY?

I've seen a few things on ShopHQ by this designer and would like feedback from anyone who has purchased his jewelry.

Pros, cons, whatever comes to mind.

TIA!

@Tinkrbl44 I have a couple of pieces of his jewelry and I think they are well made and lovely.  Very similar to the Robert Manse line on HSN if you are familiar with that line.  I have a beautiful very detailed dragon pendant that is quite large and a hamsa on a leather cord.  Both have gold accents and I wear them often.

If my dog doesn't like you, neither do I.

Samuel B is a longtime vendor on ShopHQ and its predecessors and he sells jewelry elsewhere.  He specializes in the Bali style.  He used to have nice pieces for considerably less than comparable jewelry by other sellers.  In the last few years, like everybody else, he went cheap and his things weren't nearly as nice as they used to be.  I've got some really nice older pieces.

@Tinkrbl44 He is famous for his bangle bracelets and they are beautiful.  I've purchased several for myself and as gifts.  The underlying metal in one of my own bracelets recently broke after a couple of years.  I'm not sure if it's a common problem or not.  You should read the ShopHQ reviews for that particular item.

I don't own any of his pieces but I certainly do love Samuel's creations. They are all lovely!

Re: ANYONE FAMILIAR WITH SAMUEL B JEWELRY?

@Tinkrbl44 - I have several Samuel B items in my collection, and as you know, they are all handmade in Thailand by incrediblly skilled silver artisans. I have an elephant ring from his line that is so finely detailed it defies all logic (i.e. the elephant's trunk has two breathing holes at the very bottom). I think I need to go and find that ring right now so I can enjoy it all over again. I also have a big turquoise ring from him with turtle details on each side of the stone, and a couple of dragon pieces (a lightweight cuff with wonderful carvings and an abalone and silver dragon pendant). I have a much older ring from him with more silver weight and a blue chaledony stone. I probably have a few more, but I cannot think of them offhand.

Samuel B's pieces are lovely and well made. I think the jewelry from Thailand is the finest handcrafted jewelry anywhere in the world.

I've had my eye on some earrings and, after reading the positive comments here, went over to re-read about them.  Much to my surprise, they were listed at $12 higher today than they were yesterday!

Grrr ..... I hate when retailers do that!    Woman Sad

Re: ANYONE FAMILIAR WITH SAMUEL B JEWELRY?

I have quite a few pieces from Samuel B.  I particularly love his chunkier bangles. His rings are also very nice.  I haven't had great luck with his hoops.  3 different pairs, the wire that goes through your ear broke off.

He is featured frequently on RueLaLa and Zulily.  His pieces are sold for a fraction of the retail.  Keep in mind they will not repair pieces sold through secondary sellers.
