ANY REGULAR JTV VIEWERS HERE?

After Kendy moved from ShopHQ to JTV, I recorded a few shows.

Hadn't checked out JTV in years ... literally.

Two things I noticed ....

They seem to use a LOT of white zircon in their jewelry.  White zircon?   Why is this such a popular stone with them?

The other thing ..... it seems they offer a fair amount of sterling silver jewelry and then cover it with rhodium.   Why bother to use silver if it's going to be covered?

Would love your take on these two points ... TIA!  Woman Happy

@Tinkrbl44 Per white Zircon.  It's a common gem.  It's reflective ability makes it a diamond alternative.  Blue is the most popular color, with green and red having market value.  Rhodium color gives silver a longer time before it tarnishes.  It makes silver, very bright and clean looking. There are people that prefer the duller look of silver and only buy it rhodium free. For those that hate polishing silver, rhodium is a good choice.

I haven't shopped JTV in years.  I just got tired of it. Most of the jewelry sold there is cheap in market value. Their Bella is gorgeous but not worth a plug nickel. But so is Diamonique......Their idea of gold is 10K.  And most of it is. 18K is only for plating.  14k pops up on occasion....Since JTV has tons of silver, most of it has to be with rhodium clad.  Otherwise people would be sitting on piles of silver, polishing it.

I like jtv. Prices good when there is a flash sale. Shipping fast, returns fast and easy. I bought some very pretty pieces, and some not so good.

I like JTV too, Bella styles are unique and priced very low, Diamonique cant hold  a candle to it as far as styles and settings.

Jtv and Shoplc and many jewelry designers use White zircon as a diamond substitute in their silver jewelry.  At one time they used white topaz but that never looked like diamonds.  White zircon is a natural mined from the Earth stone that does look like a diamond.  As for Rhodium plating over silver.  I ONLY buy silver that is rhodium plated because it makes my silver tarnish resistant.  I can put it in my jewelry box and know that if I don't touch that piece for years, it won't tarnish.  Rhodium is a very expensive noble metal in the platinum family.  It's more expensive than gold now.  Rhodium is white and reflective so it enhances the stones in a setting.  Also white gold is always rhodium plated for the brightness.

JTV is another one of my background-noise stations.   Their Bella Luce® brand is excellent, and I have purchased several of their "special values".

However, they do have an "outside" vendor of diamond simulants who is so OBNOXIOUS and self-praising that I have to switch channels.

All-in-all, I would give JTV a "three star" rating.

White zircon is a lot brighter than white topaz and is sometimes used as a replacement for diamonds.  I myself like the rhodium covering on sterling.  I also do not like polishing my jewelry.  I buy from JTV quite often.  I find it gives a more detailed description of their products.  Bella Luce looks the same to me as diamonique but less expensive.

Bella Luce stones and Diamomnique stones are the same, but the Bella settings and designs are so much more unique and pretty.

I am a JTV shopper too and have been for 20 years or so. I have some really lovely pieces that still look brand new, in silver. White zircon is so much better than white sapphire----in appearance and sparkle--the sapphire tends to get milky in color over time---my fave are the pearls and I have many including  a south sea golden pearl necklace and earrings---just gorgeous!! The sales are pretty frequent too, and shippping is on the same day and delivered within 3-4 days where I live. I rarely just sit and watch non stop--some of the hosts are just way too over the top. I've had a few "dogs" that I sent back, but not too many.

Shophq uses white zircon. I don't like white zircon, but I am very found of colored zircon.
