I need feedback please .....

Recently bought a white bronze metal cuff bracelet.  It's wider at the top and tapers a bit to the edges.  When I wear it, it flips around and the smaller edges are on top.  I want to adjust it so it stays upright ... and am not sure if I should squeeze the sides down a bit .... or squeeze them closer together .... or what.

Suggestions?   TIA!

I would do a little of both...push the ends down to make them closer to your wrist. Also squeeze the cuff on the sides to make the gap smaller once you put it on. You may have to pull ends apart to get it off, however. Depends on how much room there is in the gap. Sometimes cuffs are too big for my wrist and I can't wear them no matter how much I bend them...and they still  want to flip.

@Tinkrbl44  I’m afraid if you continue to bend it to put it on and then have to bend to tighten it & bend again for removal, there will be 2 problems: It could eventually become brittle and break and/or it will no longer be round or oval (whatever was the original shape). Is it possible to check w/ a jeweler about sizing it or adding more metal to keep it from turning? Cuff bracelets, especially if wider on top, need to fit tightly on the wrist and “snaked on” by placing the open ends at narrowest portion of the wrist. Hope that helps.

It sounds like the cuff is a bit big on you @Tinkrbl44. When something keeps sliding that is generally the cause.

I would ask about it at a jewelry store. Since it is base metal I am not sure what the remedy would be. I know when I worked at Tiffany's they heated the metal to size.

Good luck.

Re: ADJUSTING A CUFF BRACELET

I wear a lot of cuffs and have a 6 1/2 in wrist.
To adjust gently, I put my hand over the top of the cuff for a few seconds so the warmth softens the metal. Then I squeeze together.

Re: ADJUSTING A CUFF BRACELET

As long as it doesn't have stones in it won't matter.

always take to a jeweler that can analyze it most do it for free.

I got a biggie rhodrocrosite stone cuff that was to big and for yrs I tied it on with pink ribbon because I got 6.5 in wrist and this thing was made for Kong

finally this jeweler just took it from me and made a alteration and now I'm good to go . I was scared to mess with it myself. LOL
