Many of you know that I lost my job several years ago & that times have been very hard. I have a friend that I haven't seen in years but we talk several times a year & she knows my situation & has been a real friend. We always send birthday cards to each other (often dog related as we both own golden retrievers). Tomorrow is my 62nd birthday & I was just a little down. I got the mail today & saw there was a card from Jeannie there. I went through the mail & opened the card & in it was a $100 bill & a note that said do something fun! I just started to cry. My sister heard me & asked what was wrong & I showed it to her. All she said was to do what Jeannie said - have fun with it, don't you dare pay a bill with it. Go to the movies or out to eat. And that's what I'm going to do. It was so thoughtful of her & I called her tonight & told her that thank you seems like such a simple thing to say but I didn't know what else to say. I think she knows how thankful & appreciative I was. Friends are wonderful & I don't know how I would have made it this far without them.
