My husband got  ring, he likes to shop as much as I do!

25.4 mm = 1" (I just round down to 25mm to make it easy).  

When you divide 7mm into 25.4 mm, you get .27", a hair over 1/4".

I have a 6 mm Omega necklace, it measure 3/16 " wide so 7 MM just makes it to 1/4 inch
