Mary was hosting Silver Style this morning and announced that it was only 44 days until Christmas.  Let's see today is August 26....I think I need to go check my calendar!!

Will QVC and HSN put their Christmas decorations up in September?  Or will they wait until October?  By early October, they're everywhere.  This ruins Christmas, IMO.  You're sick of it by the time the season begins.  They should at least wait until early November, but I guess it boosts sales, so they do it.  I turn QVC and HSN off a lot during this time because the shows get so repetitious.  I prefer to see the decorations come out the day after Thanksgiving and stay up until just after New Year's Day.  I think that's how it was when I was a kid, but maybe I just never noticed how early they were up.  I remember the beautiful scenes in department store windows in the city.  I'm not sure whether they even put them up anymore.
