Wow, 30 years ago this show excited me. Now, with the prices what they are, I don't think I'll even watch. I no longer own one piece of gold. I had such heavy, substantial, pieces. At least for me, selling them in 2009, after I lost my job, sure saved me. I pretty much got as much selling them, as I originally paid.

@TangocashSo sorry you had to sell your pretty gold, but also so glad you'd been able to buy when gold was worth less. Sounds as if you hit the market at the right time, too. - another tiny shot of good luck to go with your nasty situation.
Like you, I bought what gold I have before gold rose beyond my comfort zone so it's been a long time since I bought gold. I still like to look, but I'm not even replacing what was stolen last summer. Even before the cost of gold rose along with stock market prices, it no longer makes sense for me.

I love the 2 gold days each year and they are the only times I actually watch some Q on tv. I used to be glued to the tv on those days but now just watch here and there. I always check things out online though.
Q offers a lot of super high priced items and a ton of cheap, flimsy items these days. I like the in-between items if they are decent quality. I sure don't expect the same quality I used to from Q since it hasn't been there for many years now. But sometimes there is a great bargain.
My hope is that Q offers more rose gold this year. It's my favorite color but is hard to come by at Q.
If you want quality gold for much better everyday prices per gram, try sarraf dotcom. I've never been disappointed in their products or customer service.

Thanks @banned again for the information. I'll keep an eye out for the new offerings. Not watching, though.

Looks like there are some pretty pieces but QVC's "sale" prices are ususally a joke.

I still love the Gold Rush but am working so will check it out online before I leave for work.
On these days, I do prefer seeing the items presented, as the presentations help me make decisions. The items often look more impressive online than they do in a presentation.
OTOH, the one purchase I made last year was of an item that didn't show at all well online but was fabulous on TV. It's my favorite piece right now.

They don't usually include 18K, but I'll look to see what QVC only 18K outlet Arte d'Oro on that day. Thanks for the information.
