3 Different Jewelry Armoires - which is best?

HSN TS today is an Over the Door Jewelry Armoire for $120. I like some of the features, but I already have 2 of Joy Mangano's - the small & the big one, both in cherry. And then Lori Grenier did one, I think (I know she did a small one, can't recall about a big one.) I have a lot of costume jewelry, Joan Rivers, Kirks Folly, mostly necklaces, rings & tons of pins.

What I like best about this HSN one is it's rectangular & you can see all the jewelry at once. And it has more necklace room - I don't wear earrings, but think maybe I could use those bars for bracelets, or maybe pins? I do not like the mirror inside, wasted space, would rather have another rack for short necklaces or big bracelets. I like the place for eyeglasses, too. My Joy M. sits closed & unused most of the time (& both big & small are broken at the hinge where the drawers slide open). At Christmas I pawed through it & removed all the jewelry I might wear for the holidays & put it in a small table top jewelry box to use thru New Year's. I like the idea of hanging this over the door & getting it out of the way, will have more floor space now & can get to it easily. (I believe Joy later did an over the door model, or Lori? Someone did. But it was way after I bought my 2.)

Which armoire do you gals have, & what features do you not like or do like about them? Does anyone have the HSN one from today, they didn't say it was brand new, I got the impression it was an improved model (has more colors too).

I don't have one (yet) but when/if I get one I will get one of Lori Greiner's because of the anti-tarnish lining. Look at H1043; H86082; H201640. But none of these are over-the-door.

I have a floor model but it was a gift from my mother. I don't store any good jewelry in it for fear of theft. Now it only holds cheap costume that was my moms 1940's stuff. It's similar to this.

I have one that is on a hanger, so it slips into the closet and hides in the clothes. It is fabric, with clear plastic pockets. I think Joan Rivers did one similar.

I use a non-tarnish box for the sterling.

There are 125 or so 1-star reviews on that item (I was thinking about it and checked them out) with complaints about backing detaching from the inside, the back of it is just heavy cardboard and one wrote that it came crashing down in the middle of the night.

Another thing about that one is evidently if you want to return it you send it back to the manufacturer (no return shipping sticker) and when they notify HSN they've received it, you are refunded. One lady wrote she'd been waiting a month.

Just go over and read the reviews and decide if it's worth taking a chance. It seems to me it would be pretty expensive to send back.

I've had Lori's gold and silver safe keeper since it was first shown. I DO wish it was about two inches thicker because it's really hard if you love cuff bracelets. I put a bunch of pearl head straight pins in the foam for rings and hang my necklaces there too; I don't have 100 rings! Because of the width, if you don't line up your larger pieces, esp. on the bracelet bar, the door may not close. Still, it's the best out there.

I have Lori's silver safe keeper stand alone H86082 and I have liked it. However, it seems no jewelry storage is exactly perfect for everyone. I do like the idea of pins in the foam for necklaces. I'm running out of necklace room. I have stuck my pins and brooches on the foam part.

I don't have pierced ears, but clip my earrings over the little notches for pierced ears, as well as put them in the little cubby holes. Seems like I can't keep them straight there. I have a lot of costume jewelry, too, so I made a hanger with teacup hooks and mounted it in my closet for the cheaper stuff.

I have a beautiful jewelry box from Thomas Paconi (remember him?) but it took up a lot of space on my dresser and didn't fit. I did like that jewelry box.

I have had Lori's floor armoire for 8 or 9 years. I don't think it's sold anymore. It has worked out fine for me with no tarnishing. I've outgrown it though and have umpteen smaller boxes so that I have trouble finding things.

I have this too!!! Still using it and the anti-tarnish is STILL working. I think I got it in the late 1990s?

It is beautiful. I still love it after all these years but it is REALLY big.
