The price of 14k gold is $25 as of 2 days ago. QVC prices for 14k gold jewelry is very high priced. You could pay those prices at high end jewelry stores. If I see something I like, I try to find it elsewhere because I can usually save on price, shipping or both.

That's $25 per gram.

Gold right now is $1,331.plus change and silver is $16.41. I agree the prices are high, but gold is actually down from what it had been. Silver is still much higher than it used to be, but silver jewlery is priced much too high for what there is in a bracelet or necklace. But, it's no where near $25.00 for gold. I'm not sure it's even that for a gram.

Well I googled the price of a gram of 14k gold, and got the same answer at multiple sites, but it could be wrong.

@shopperqvc @LadyEngr. The price of gold is commonly list as being sold by the ounce, not gram. A gram is a minuscule quanity. Doubt you could even buy anything that weighed just one gram.

@Kachina624 The Q at one time told the gram weight of every piece of jewlery they showed on screen. After gold went to over $1,700.00 an ounce they stopped. They sold gold for around $14.00 a gram back when they first went on air. In a way I miss them saying how many grams and what the per gram price is. Between the raise in gold and silver prices, and so much of the jewlery being sold by designers, they no longer mention the per gram cost. But that was one of their big selling points back in the 1990's. In fact their sales pitch was "if you go to another store to buy jewlery, ask what the gram weight is and how much the cost per gram is. They probably won't tell you, but we will on every piece".

@shopperqvc. I've been around a long time and also remember when they and HSN both touted the gram weight of both gold and silver. I miss it too because it gave an accurate picture of how substantial a piece was.

The price of gold and silver is priced very high right now. When you buy jewelry, you are not buying a piece of metal. You must also figure in the workmanship on the piece.
Many pieces are finished or made by hand..no one works for free.

We have to think about how many pieces per day QVC and HSN sells compaired to a jewelry store. They sell a whole lot more than any jewelry store so why are they charging jewelry store prices? If they would give us a break we would buy more gold jewelry. And I think the gold and diamond pieces here are outrageous.I can see paying a little more for hand crafted pieces. But when I see China stamped on the inside of an expensive piece that upsets me and there's no way I would even think about buying that piece. I haven't seen a jewelry show on HSN in forever. It seems like every time I check to see what's on it's electronics. With QVC it's mainly clothes and makeup. I was happy to see a day of jewelry on Tuesday, I think it was. I thought they had some good prices on some of their silver. Not gold or diamonds though.

Where exactly are you seeing the price of gold at $25 per gram? Is that what a gold buyer would pay you for your gold?
These days if you can find something on QVC priced around $40 per gram of 14K you are doing well - most of their gold is priced much higher. Evine had their Today's Special the other day at around $80 per gram. Whew!
I'm sure if you scour Ebay and estate sales you can find some pretty good prices.
I have a lot of gold that I bought around 25 years ago for $10-$12 per gram and I'm not letting go of it.
