14K gold clad

Has anyone purchased any of QVC's jewelry that is 14k gold clad? I have hesitated to buy it in the past, but have been coveting Erica Courtney's Alina ring for months now. Anyway, how does the clad hold up? Does it chip and/or wear off? Thanks for any information.
