Yes, Pima cotton was developed and perfected at the University of Arizona in Tucson! Absolutely true as many, many signs around the city will proclaim! Tucson born at the UA Agriculture dept! Bear Down!!!

Named for the Pima Indians indigenous to that area as I understand. I've heard Isaac relate the background of Pima Cotton and get it wrong.
They also raise it in West Texas where the growing conditions are similar to those in Arizona.
