We are refinishing my vintage vanity table and one of the things I really want to do is change out the foo foo hardware. DH removed one drawwer pull and measured it and it's an odd size so I searched online and was blown away by the prices for nicer than big box store hardware plus the fact that I need to get this unusual size.I need 6 of them and for the 1 3/4 " size it looks like I will be paying in the $15 - $20 each range for them. Who would have ever thought? I looked at the usual places like Lowes & HD but they don't have this odd size. I will have to do more research before i committ to paying that much. It's a french provential style table with all the curly cues in the wood so I can't just put very simple plain ones - they have to be of the period for it to look right.

Fill the original holes with wood putty, sand, touch up the holes with matching stain and re-drill holes to accomodate pulls from a big box or other hardware supplier.
I just had a custom bureau made for me by an Amish builder & wasn't happy with the original drawer pulls. New stock, bright brass filigree pulls ran me $4.50 ea from his Amish hardware aupplier.

Keep serching for other suppliers/options. But nothing makes a piece of furniture look 'new' like new hardware.

I was fortunate in the last time I needed drawer pulls for an antique, I was able to buy another antique with the same size pulls that actually had one more on it than I needed cheaper than buying the drawer pulls. The antique I purchased for the pulls had some issues that needed repairs. Just a thought to look at some of your antique and vintage stores.

I'm picky about drawer pulls and have shopped like mad for replacements for pieces of furniture that I have updated in various ways over the years.
You must expect high prices when you're looking for hardware requiring holes closer than 4-inches wide. They just don't make many, or any, of them these days.
We had our master bathroom remodeled last year. When the older cabinetry was discarded and new cherry cabinetry was installed, I watched like a hawk to make sure the workers did not ruin the very expensive chrome/acrylic drawer pulls that I had invested big money in years ago and that they reinstalled them in the new cabinets correctly. The pulls require holes 3 inches apart, were hard to find when I bought them and would be even harder to find on today's market.
Also would like to find replacements for brass hardware on some vintage cherry bedroom chests, but all three of the chests I'd like to rework have 3-inch-wide holes. I'd have to fill existing holes, refinish the drawer fronts and buy new 4-inch hardware. Not worth the expense, so it probably won't get done.

We had a store called Classic Hardware that we bought all of our door handles and knobs from. It was near our old house. They've since closed and the owner retired. I don't know what I would have done without that guy! He gave us deep discount prices on all of what we bought from him. My brother went to school with the owner so he gave me HUGE discounts! I just bought all of our door handles, knobs, drawer pulls, EVERYTHING for our new home so I certainly know how expensive it can be.

I refinish a lot of furniture ansd something I always hate to do is fill in holes and redrill - I feel you can always see it. Anyway - because of the style of this piece and the curves of the drawer front it isn't possible anyway. The pulls are this size for a reason. It's not that I couldn't find any - I found many - they were just so expensive, and I need an unusual amount - generally a vanity will have 2 drawers or 4 but mine has 6, which was one reason I bought it.

@151949 - I love refinishing furniture or old pieces I find in the junk store! Would love to see pictures when you are done!

15149 I hope you can find something more affordable that you like. Keep looking. Did you say how many pulls you need?

This wasn't from a junk store but from a second hand furniture store, and is quite nice. A lot of folks here in Florida sell very nice furniture at these places after Mom or Dad passes away or when Mom & Dad have to go to the home or assisted living. Anyway, someone painted it a funky color blush, in a non washable paint, somewhere along the way and put on some Gosh awful decals of flowers so I want to sand those off and repaint in ivory, a washable paint because I get makeup on it, and get rid of ugly hardware.I think we can make it look almost new and much more 21st century. I do love it as it is long and narrow and fits perfectly under the window in our bedroom so I can put on my makeup most of the time in natural light. It didn't come with a seat so I use a folding chair that goes with a card table and I made a quilted cover that hides the seat completely. i only paid $10 for the vanity table - the fabric & pattern for the seat cover cost a lot more than the table.
