thanks everyone!!!

[ Edited ]

well they say "a picture says a 1000 words".   I saw how cluttered my cabinet was!  I want to thank you all for your suggestions & comments on my "decorating" updating with my new accent table.

Today, I looked at the pictures & wow you posters were on point!

@LuckyCharm thank you for pointing out my beautiful roosters were "lost" I moved them to the top shelf.  (Trying to figure out what to put in place of those blue dishes - I took them out!) I also removed all the "greenery" (after I took pic) and excess stuff on the shelves.

I am surprised how much "stuff" was on those shelves of the China closet.  Most of it found a new home today - the donation box!

Thank you again your comments are appreciated & I am looking forward to Fall decorating.  That won't be til October when I return home -- and can't bring myself to take down my front door wreath as my "🐸 found  a home!!!

The cabinet looks great!

One of the things I notice most when people on FB pages post pictures of their hutches, is that they are overly full, and most don't have matching/coordinating things displayed.

I personally think it takes a lot of self control to know when to stop with a cabinet, or a table top or any vignette. You get started with it, it looks good, and it makes you keep going. Sometimes it is about having things you love and want to display, but they really don't coordinate well, or just gets to be too many things.

And a picture is the fastest way to see just where one has gone 'wrong' with a display. I know I take a lot of pictures to post here, thinking things 'look good', then when I look closely, I see things aren't as good as I thought!

I've found the answer to over crowding a display of any kind is simply changing them out more often. That way I get to use all the things I like, but don't have to feel like I need to jam up a display with too much, just to get the stuff used.

Those roosters are indeed beautiful and deserve the place of honor in the center.

When I rearrange things, I take everything out and look at it.  Why was it where it was?  Do I love it or did it end up there because it didn't fit anywhere else?  Is the hutch for storage or display?  If for display, pick the item you love and only put things back that go well with it.

@GCR18

Thats exactly what I did today (after seeing the pic even I thought it was "cluttered"😲) so I took down ALL 4th of July decor inside because I'm leaving on 8/27 and wont be home til 9/20.  I actually "purged" my decorations too!

When I saw All that stuff on the table I was surprised.  I took advice & made it simple. Here's the funny thing: I have a console table when you come in thru the garage I have my keys basket & cute little pineapple lamp on it.  I said to spouse "what is missing? This table had more on it?" Answer "who knows but it looks nicer now!" So I left it as is & same as my coffee table it's clutter free now!

I do like what it looks like now, but, I need to find something to replace those plates.  I have the matching compote and serving pieces that match the roosters by Villeroy (or Fitz & Floyd) I can't remember. I may do that tomorrow.

Now the hutch is display (not storage) & wasn't loving it but now I do!

thanks for the good tips!🙂🙂🙂🙂

That is the cutest cabinet, and your display looks just perfect ! Love the roosters in the top center shelf. (:

I like your rearraged hutch! Looks great! I have one more tweaked suggestion:

Take the greenery off of the birdcage and drape it over that beautiful arch. To my eye, it looks "heavy" on one side, but that great  arch would help balance out the display.

It's amazing seeing a picture of something you thought looked perfectly fine.

I have a smaller version of the shelf you have to the left of your cabinet in your original pictures hanging in my kitchen that I keep my Eeyore collection on.

I wanted to wash everything and took a picture so I knew where to put things back.

OMG - WTH was I thinking when I arranged that!  It looked like kwap!
