This place looks like someone's idea of a bad joke.

For me, there is no heart and soul in this apartment.  Might as well go to a mausoleum and hang your hat.

This apartment, now that I think more about it, is a reduction to absurdity of what I see in the new homes today.  Everything -- to me -- is sterile and without personality or joy.  All the kitchens and family rooms look alike to me.

Is this because folks do not want to personalize their home too much so that it is easy to sell or is this a new aesthetic that has taken prominence?

There is an emphasis on functionality, which I can understand, and an apparent disdain for beauty for beauty's sake.  Of course, one man's beauty is another man's horror.
