Those crime scene pictures are a reminder to me to close closet doors and hang up my clothes!

Let's face it, criminals often are not exemplary housekeepers.

@cheriere.  Me too, we'll  just have the cops wait outside while we tidy up.

My law enforcement husband and son both said you would be surprised how bad some people's homes are inside.  Even rich people in upscale neighborhoods.

My DH had to go into the big estate home of top boss where I worked for a domestic fight.  She always looked impeccable at work, not a hair out of place.

Her home was loaded with trash, papers, booze bottles, clothes and hadn't been cleaned in forever. He said it was beyond discussing.

And we fret about a messy closet?

Slightly off topic but when DH and I were looking to sell our house, we looked on the 'other side of town'.  Houses and taxes are more expensive.

I was shocked that many of those homes where income was higher as well as social status had homes that were not updated near as much as our older home.

Some were also cluttered and some needed a good cleaning...we ended up staying put....we would have to spend to much money to update the house.

@Carmie

Thank you for your husband's and son's service in law enforcement.

My sister said the same thing. She's a retired police officer. One particular home was owned by a wealthy local restaurateur. Didn't want to eat in his restaurants after the story she told me about the filth in his home. This was more than just garbage. There were bathroom messes all over the house. Of course, restaurants have to follow health codes & pass inspection, thank goodness.
