"DUNBEATH CASTLE" IS FOR SALE

Dunbeath-Castle-Scotland-for-sale-The-Glam-Pad-drive.png

Rush, rush to your realtor!  Or as the Brits would say, your "estate agent".   Dunbeath is on the northeast coast of Scotland.  It's cute.  Almost like a 'doll house' castle.

Seems unreal, almost, perched on the coast--

Some of the antiques-crammed interior is predictably grand--

....But some of it is surprisingly down-to-earth and homey, like this cozy kitchen with its Welsh dresser-type cupboard, filled with china.

Or this comfortable bedroom.

I wonder how long a growing season they have this far north.  That greenhouse probably comes in handy!

The property contains 12 miles of river--

And four miles of wild, lonely coastline--

When I saw this, I immediately remembered reading that Bob Dylan has put his Scottish Highlands estate up for sale.  These were his digs below:

@Oznell OK so you have my bagpipes playing in my head now!  I LOVE this castle.  I have Scottish blood and have been fortunate to have visted twice and have seen many a castle!  I have not heard of this one though.  OMG, if I hit the lottery I would buy it, it's beautiful!  Once again thanks for posting Smiley Happy

And, oh yes, it would be quite chilly!  LOL!

Absolutely stunning!  You mentioned most likely use of greenhouses.  We lived in Southport England, not Scotland but way up north near Liverpool & Blackpool, freezing and the cold goes right through you.  Lots of quaint greenhouses in their tiny backyards.

[ Edited ]

@Oznell @There's a lot more to this story. The most recent

owner, Stuart Wyndham Murray-Threipland, shot himself in the head in July, supposedly due to financial pressures and anxiety. Very tragic. I have so much sympathy for those suffering from illness and circumstances causing such mental torture and anxiety. The story is detailed in The Daily Mail.

Before I learned of the owner's death, I began reading about the castle. The history of the castle on Wikipedia is very interesting. The original building being there since the 15th century, in 1428. It's been rebuilt and has a long history. Those that love history might enjoy reading about it.

Yes, this spectacular castle would fit my taste in design, spaciness, formal and elegance.  Since I was a young girl I have always loved this type of home.  Whenever I toured these magnificent places when  on vacation, I fell in love and to this day still feel as I did when a young girl about such estates!
