This was described as a cottage... Lovely, but not exactly my idea of a 'cottage'!

Sorry, no interior pictures...

  • This is a beautiful home. Thanks so much for sharing. The stonework and chimneys are eye-catchers!

Re: "Cottage" in Virginia...

I love that multi-gabled cottage  (maybe vaguely "Cotswold cottage"?  It's an elastic term, ha), and that setting, with the timeless, stone-pathed garden is fabulous.

Re: "Cottage" in Virginia...

I think the roofline with the various peaks earn it the title of "cottage style" architecture.  My grandmother lived in a white clap board house with the same peaks but it was small and a true cottage.

Not my idea of a "cottage" either, but lovely just the same.  Sorry no interior pics, but thanks anyway.

Re: "Cottage" in Virginia...

It's absolutely beautiful.  If I had to change something it would be to thin out a lot of the shubs, plants, etc....at the very least give them a good trim.
