Have other people had as good luck as I have had with "as is"? (There have been one or two duds in the past, but lately my luck has held! My latest find was this:

The "as is" Iron scroll centerpiece with hurricanes from Valerie is such a bargain. I got the amber, (gold) but the last time I looked they only had the green hurricanes left. The colors keep fluctuating in availability, I guess, as items get returned, etc.
I wonder if Valerie will bring back this item? It is so versatile, and I love all the things you can do with it. I like the hurricanes on the iron centerpiece, but currently I have the Iron part on my dining room table, acting as pedestals for various items, and the glass hurricanes with faux tealights are lighting up my coffee table. They are also beautiful with real tealights in them-- I like the oversized, longer-lasting ones you can get at Walmart...

I have had good luck with "as is". Be careful though, sometimes the original item is only a few dollars more. I noticed this yesterday, so always check.

I've bought many asis items without any problems except now. I bought one of Valerie's bottle brush lit trees. When I took it out of the foam the bottom was broken and fell off in my hand. Otherwise I will continue buying asis.

I like this... you can send it back if it is damaged, I think?

Thank you all for your helpful feedback-- it can be a bit of a gamble, but it's interesting that all of us seem willing to take the risk, even if we've had misfires...
Yes, lovestoteach, you can definitely return anything damaged. The same 30 day return policy applies. Once I had a candle holder (I seem to be obsessed with candle holders) that was flawed, and immediately returned it. I couldn't find a thing wrong with this iron scroll centerpiece. It might have been an on-air sample, or maybe the recipient just didn't like it in person and carefully packed it back up again...

"As Is" items are definitely returnable, and if they are defective or damaged, there is no shipping charges for doing so. I feel I have nothing to loose by trying an as is product for this reason.
I have had mixed experienced with 'as is'. Most things have been just fine, but a few were not. QVC is great with the returns of these items. and lately, I have saved about $10 on each item I chose to pick up on 'as is' as opposed to the original item price.
As is and Lunchtime Special are my dearest friends! LOL

I've had issues with as is home decor this year. Previous years, it was rare. I received two wrong items and two defective items. I was able to get replacements on two, not the other two. I still buy as is though.
