ok so I'm dumb

but can someone explain what or how a duvet is used. My friend was telling me she uses duvets on all of her beds. I have never heard of a duvet. {#emotions_dlg.blushing} I checked Kohl's and they have 7 piece sets that include the cover and pillows. So here is my question. If I buy a set, what comforter should I buy. I am supposing any one will do. I only use bedspreads. I like the idea of the duvet because I am forever washing bedspreads and blankets. My friend said that all you have to do is take off the duvet and wash it with the sheets. I really like that. How could I have never heard of that. I know, I'm sheltered.{#emotions_dlg.blush} Do any stores sell duvets with coodernating sheets and comforter? Help me, please{#emotions_dlg.blink}
