I try goodrx.com and they give you the lowest price for each prescription. You may have to go several places to get the best price and you have to decide if it is worth it. I saved a little over $20.00 on a prescription my dog will need for the rest of her life. The reason I said my dog is that it is never covered by insurance. For most stores you don't need to copy the coupon, just the information on the coupon and give it to your pharmacist.

My sympathies on the loss of your dear husband. And, the best to you as you attempt to get your life in order through grieving. That's not an easy thing to do. God Bless!

I had heard several years ago about the great prices at Costco, so took a new prescription to them when DH and I did our next shopping there. I was disappointed to find out that the pharmacy in our Costco is closed on Sundays. This turned out to be the deciding factor for me, as we generally go to Costco on Saturday or Sunday afternoon. However, if you can go any time, you should be good to go.
Another thing that bugged me was when I presented an order from my doc for a shingles injection, I was told by the pharmacy tech that they couldn't help me because there wasn't a pharmacist on duty. I asked when the pharmacist was going to return and was told "tomorrow." Wow! In California, the techs are not supposed to dispense meds without a pharmacist on board - at least that was my knowledge at the time. So....the pharmacy should have been closed and I made such a statement to the tech. She gave me this guilty look.
Anyway, my experience was probably with just this Costco in San Diego (La Mesa). I'd recommend that you go to Costco and speak with the pharmacist for a few minutes. Perhaps he/she can answer a few questions for you. Good luck!

I'm so sorry for the loss of your husband. And then to be worried about your prescriptions on top of that.
I've used Costco for a number of years only for one or two prescriptions. Before I went on Medicare and got Part D insurance, I got one prescription from them that would have cost me $21.00 a month under my old insurance at any regular retail pharmacy, for 30 tablets. At Costco, I got 90 tablets (90 days) for less than $10.00. Even my Part D now doesn't get it for me any cheaper, so I still use Costco. Sometimes the price goes down a little, sometimes up a dollar or two. Whenever I have to get a new prescription in a hurry (rather than my Part D mail order), I use Costco or sometimes another local pharmacy. I also get my cat's blood pressure medication from Costco, and a month's supply is only about $7.00. I've never had a problem, and I've been very pleased with them.

So sorry about your husband! I use Costco for certain prescriptions such as Hydroquinone. It is only $5 there.

COSTCO has the lowest Rx pricing. Most significantly, they fill the prescription AS WRITTEN.
This is important because your doctor may want you to have 30 tablets, but your insurance company will only pay for 15.
COSTCO will fill the script for 30 tablets and you will receive wholesale pricing.
You also reserve the right to fill your script under your insurance and receive wholesale pricing for the remaining tablets not covered under your plan.

Just FYI, both Costco and Sams will fill prescriptions even for non-club-members. You don't have to join to use either pharmacy.
