just recieved humidifier and it p ut your on a rug
said not to put it on a rug. do any of you ?

I put  a plastic garbage bag under mine. I never had a problem with it. In fact I have 3 & they never leaked.

I have 3 - 2 on carpet and one on a table for ? 5 years maybe.  Never a spot of water.  Scotty - the vendor - was quizzed once by Jill on air - because manufacturer said not to place on floor - Scotty admitted, yes you can - no problem.

Manufacturer just didn't want any legal obligation (I think).
