This morning we went to the local farmer's stand for some corn & tomatoes and saw all these fields torn up and a barn without a roof -- the young lady at the farm stand told us there were tornadoes last night. We had gone to bed early, and it was raining and lots of thunder & lightening, but apparently we slept right through these tornados even though they were only a couple miles away.

Not sure exactly where you're located, @151949, but last night (around 11:00 p.m.) in my area, (outside of Pgh) I've never heard such loud, booming, roaring thunder. The lightning was very intense, & although not usually bothered by the thunder and lightning . . . this was scary . There were no strong winds here, but the rain was very intense, and then suddenly . . . everything was calm.

We went to bed at about 10PM and it said on the news the tornados were around 10:30PM, so we slept through it. It was in the area between Evans City and Butler.

I suggest you invest in a NOAA weather radio. It will alert you when severe weather is in your area, and believe me it will wake you up if you're sleeping!!! It's a must-have for those of us in Tornado Alley.

We have severe weather alerts on our phones and they are quite loud - but we did not wake up. Our camper has separate AC units in the bedroom and the kitchen and the one in the bedroom is right over our heads so it is pretty loud, and I think we just didn't hear the phones go off.

Are you near Indiana? My grandmother's family all came from Floyd county. We're these in that area? I hope everyone made out alright!

I am in NE IN. Had a f3 touch down about 15 miles from my house Tuesday.
@ccassaday Kokomo area? I'm in NW IN and saw some video of the Starbucks collapsing and area devastation afterward. Scary and sad indeed.

This EF3 touched downright outside of Fort Wayne. This is right by the BF Goodrich tire plant where my dad works. He was already home when it hit.
