electronics charging station

Campers are just not electronics friendly. Yesterday I was cleaning and the tangle of cords behind one of the chairs in the sitting area was a mess to put it mildly. DH was holding all the cords up so I could clean the floor and I mentioned it would be nice if all this mess was inside a cabinet. Today he made it happen! The charging cords for 2 phones , our MI FI, the weather alert radio ( very necessary in a camper) and our camera are now all plugged into a surge suppressor and tucked into a cabinet. That is 5 less cords on the floor. What he did was install an outlet into the cabinet then plugged in the surge suppressor which has 5 outlets on it and glued the surge suppressor to the side of the cabinet so it doesn't move around as we plug and unplug stuff. So nice to have all this krap behind closed doors. It is in our entertainment center so there was already an outlet in there for the TV and stereo - he ran the new outlet off that. I am fortunate to have a hubby who can do electrical work.

What a helpful husband! It's the little things that make life run more smoothly, isn't it?

Re: electronics charging station

My hubby does not do well if he is bored. He gets very irritable so it is best around here when he has these projects to keep him busy. A few days ago at HHGregg my niece gave us 2 wooden trays for over the arms of the chairs to be able to set our computers or a drink on but they were too big and did not stay level. i was going to return them but instead he is fixing them so they fit snugly. Then when it is hot we won't have our computers sitting on our laps making us even hotter. Sometimes I really struggle to think of things for him to do. Fortunately, we have some widows here at camp who ask him to fix small things for them as well.
