@raspberrygal    Yes!  Some great childhood memories.  We hated stringing the tinsel.  My mother wanted ONE strand on the tree at a time!  We didn't get tons of gifts like kids today, but we always got our most wanted toy.  I LOVED my childhood Christmas Eve's.  It was a special time in the late 60's.  Today, our family has cut way back on gifts, and it's great now also.  We really enjoy the holiday, a meal and a day together.

Sure does, love the tree and TV.!  My happy and carefree days of my youth before all of life's surprises, both good and bad came my way!

Yes it does!  I can still remember my father putting the tinsel on the tree, one strand at a time.

Yes I do!  Those were the days for sure.  I always hated the tinsel, always made such a mess and you would still find pieces of it long after the tree was down.   That's why once I had my own place I never, ever used tinsel for my tree, LOL!

Yes, I do. Not sure when we got a TV, but everything else looks like my childhood memories.

I'm with you on that tinsel!  What was even worse was that Mom made us pull each strand off when taking the tree down and lay it flat to use next year!!

What was tinsel back then?  19c a package?  But she was frugal!
