@docsgirl  I'm so curious how your quilt is going. I know you are still a working gal, so time is short, but are you having fun?

Hi twopeas,

Good to hear from you.  All the pieces are cut and sandwiched.  I laid it all out on the floor but forgot to take a photo.  Upon returning from work the other day I found that my darling, precious cat had them strewn all over the place.  I told him he's going back to the animal shelter but he just looked at me, yawned, and demanded food.  Love that kid.Cat LOL  I'm going to make the X's across each square and then lay the pieces out again and begin to sew row by row.  I'm anxious to get it finished and can only hope it will be half as lovely as yours.

How is your 2nd rag quilt progressing?  Your first was so very lovely. By the way, is that a picture of your cat?  My cat is all white and very, very affectionate but is into everything.  He's an older boy so he should be settled down but he's a wild child.Cat Wink  docsgirl

@docsgirl Sounds as if you are making good progress. In spit of naughty kitty. Heart My kitty would have done the same thing had he been left alone with all those fun, colorful play things. My avatar is from the Internet. I did have my "real kitty" as my avatar, but changed things up the other day. My second quilt is awaiting the arrival of an even feed presser foot that I ordered. It's all put together except for the final stage of attaching all of the rows and clipping, washing. I chose to not put a "fill" in the sandwich, but another layer of flannel because I found four yards in my stash that I forgot I had. Since this is for my granddog I thought that more of a blanket type may be better since dogs like to nest. Also, I used larger squares. I bought some cute alphabet labels from Amazon that came from Switzerland and spelled out the dog's name on his and my granddaughters first initial on hers. So good to hear from you, @docsgirl

@docsgirl Finished with Blue's blanket. I decided that I prefer using three layers of flannel rather than the fill stuff that I used the first time. Hope all is well with you. Heart

Hi twopeas,

Great minds run together as I was thinking about you yesterday.  I get home from school exhausted and there are times I don't even turn on my computer.

Blue's quilt is absolutely wonderful. Love your choice of fabrics as well as your chosen colors. Love the dog bones.   Mine is coming along.  All the individual squares are sewn together and the quilt is just about done. I did not use batting but used 3 layers of flannel. I left the new pieces on the floor and kitty enjoys sitting on one square.  I took a picture of him but have no idea how to post a picture here.  He's so adorable but very naughty and into everything.I got him out of our local shelter and often ask him who rescued whom.  After I lost my precious dog I didn't think I could ever love again but he changed all that.

Did you use your walking foot?  I have one and it makes feeding thick fabric a lot easier.  Do you have plans for another quilt?  I really enjoy constructing the rag quilt as it's quick and easy.  I may make another one in the future but need to start on some garments for Spring.  Do you sew garments?  Thanks so much for your caring and support.  docsgirl

@docsgirl Oh, I would love to see your kiki sitting on your quilt squares. HeartOur three furbabies are also rescues and they give so much love. I am so glad that you gave another chance to love a pet. It hurts so darn bad when we lose them, it's sometimes unimaginable. Yes, I used the easy foot. It was delayed in shipping and I was annoyed, but it arrived yesterday. I used to sew all of my clothes as well as my daughters when she was young, but with the price of fabric and patterns these days it's just not cost effective. I'm trying to decide what to make next. I kept my old pattern of a raggedy ann doll that I made a few of years ago and I may work on one of them for my granddaughter for next Christmas. God bless you, @docsgirl. I hope we are in touch again.
