Just got my new big Christmas tree yesterday and set it up in a corner of our dining room this morning (next to my dog's little house, for nowWoman Very Happy).

I haven't decorated it and will probably leave it as is, I've always liked just a minimally decorated tree. It just looks more natural and magical to me. If I put anything on it, it will be clip on birds and maybe some pinecones for the fresh "out in the forest" look I love.

My other smaller tree is a pencil tree in our living room, also in the corner....

@GingerHead ,

This looks just like my new tree...My Texas House Cypress Tree.

Any chance it's the same tree?

On a side note your pics are always great with your farmhouse ? look.  Beautiful rooms.

Did you recently remodel or was the house like this?  I feel slightly like I've asked this before, not sure if I just thought of asking or actually did lol.

Reason why I ask is I redid quite a bit of my house about 6 years ago and know what a lot of work it takes in plannning, hiring workers etc.  So glad I did it though.

Well thank you so much for the compliment.

Also....I don't remember if you've asked about my remodel before or not either!Woman LOL

When we moved in about 7 years ago now (wow time flies!) it looked completely different.

It  was a big fixer but it had great bones,  including that lovely paneling in most of the house and the great windows.

But the problem with the paneling was that it was stained in a not very attractive and dated orangie wood tone so I decided to prime and paint (easier to paint than to strip and restain)  the entire house including the ceilings and I did it all on my own, my DH was busy doing construction, wiring, electrical and plumbing (thank goodness, he can do it all with a little help from me). It would have been cost prohibitive if we had to hire it out.

So we painted, knocked down/built walls, tiled, flooring, total kitchen and bathroom gut and redo....etc, etc (literally Everything) it took years and tears and thank goodness it's mostly done! hahaWoman Happy

Here's that same corner before (when we first moved in), with my dog's house (boy does he love that house!) and all. haha.

This is the only view of that corner that I found.

The wood was even oranger looking in real life and see the red carpet!

Here's a better picture of the before panelling color when we bought.... although it did still look worse in person. It was really orange and multi-colored. I painted it all, including the fireplace.

It was a big fat mess!

@GingerHead ,

Yes I LOVE it! I saw it last year and it was sold out so I got it this year.

It was so easy to put up and so realistic looking. The price was great.

I have the 9' in my Living Room and our previous 7' Christmas Tree in my Sun Room.

We love the Texas House Tree so much that we are getting rid of the old Sun Room tree after Christmas and replacing it with another Texas House Cypress next year.

I think my husband loves it more than I do.Woman LOL

Is that your tree or a stock pic?  Either way it's stunning!

I got the picture off the internet.  It was so fantastic looking with the ocean in the background.  Wow!

Re: do you put your tree in a corner

It varies, but in recent years I have moved my couches so that I can place my tree in front of my large living room window.  We just put up our tree last weekend and we did that again this year.

I'm not crazy about the way I have to place my couches, but it's so temporary.  I like having the tree be the focal point of my living room and I love seeing it shining through the window at night when I get home.
