My niece just telephoned me today from Athens to let me know that my house there has cob web on the kitchen wall.

Is something normal ladies for a summer home to have those?

I'm pretty clean yet I find cobwebs in my house now and then and it's not in Athens.....unfortunately. I prefer to call them wall hangings. It just sounds so much nicer.

@Dinaki

Yes, I think it's normal.  I'm a stickler for a clean home.  My housekeeper comes every other week & I maintain it in between.  I'm always finding those annoying little things popping up, even after cleaning!  We live a year-round warm environment so my windows stay open pretty much all year long, except for really hot days when I turn on the AC.  My guess is living with open windows doesn't help the situation.

Yes, I would say it's "normal".  At least it's always been normal in my houses!🤣

Even more so if the house is vacant for a while.

I live in a warm climate and find these webs in my home too. I use a broom to get them down, but the wand you have pictured looks great.

Never been in a house that didn’t have evidence of dust/cobweb spiders somewhere.

Another broom user here. I don't see spiders or other signs of life in mine though. My most common place to spot my wall hangings are from the celing to the curtain rods. Or from the celing to a light fixture. Sometimes I don't even know they're there till the light comes in the window a certain way and highlights them.

Maybe I'll start leaving them in place and hang Christmas balls on them.

I think it's normal.  What house doesn't have spiders?  They're useful, after all.
