we are doing some remodeling, a little at a time, for possible resale in 3-4 years, so I don't want to completely go all 'whatever I like' mode.
It is a 2 story colonial, mid range price (very solid, but no luxury touches) built in the 70's, so typical small bathrooms, but a lot of room in the main areas like family room etc.
I currently have a 60" vanity, single sink in the master bath (which is undeniably small). But honestly, my DH and I get ready at different times so the single has worked out OK and I like the counter space. I'm getting advice to put a double vanity on a new 60 " base, but there is more plumbing cost to that as a wall has to be accessed. If i just go with an updated base and single vanity top in a newer style/material, costs will be less.
How important do you think it would be do "master" it a bit by going with a double sink? And what counter materials/colors do you think would stand the test of the next few years? Hardware colors? Flooring? Right now things are white base, subway tile (updated when we had an issue with the tub 3 years ago) with Hilfiger accents in red/white/blue. S
Any suggestions are appreciated. We are not handy, so everything will be done, so I"m trying to find the right balance of not remodeling over the basic range of the home/neighborhood, but also making it attractive to a family looking for a home with some of the modern touches. Thanks!
