I just received my Linda Dano mirror and want to try some different things to put on it. Whatever it turns out to be I want to use several of the candles that came in the 7pc. CI set I got a couple of days ago. When you ladies put wax candles on glass how do you clean it off. The CI candles used to come with thin plastic discs that matched the shape of the candles but not anymore. Any thoughts? I have the little mirrored candle plates that I use under mine if they are going to be sitting on wood but I don't want to try to clean this beautiful mirror as harshly as I do those

Re: ? about candles on mirrors

I would never put a real candle directly on a mirror.

Hey Daffy! I think I probably used a slightly damp microfiber cloth to get the wax off the mirror in the past. Mirrors can scratch so easily that I know what you mean about being careful cleaning them, especially when they are as special ($$$) as the L. Dano/VPH bevelled mirrors.

I buy a piece of felt at the craft store and cut it to size to put under candles.

I got the same candles and the same mirrors! I am just going to set them on the mirror. They are not real and don't get hot. How is the mirror? Mine haven't come yet. I got both sizes. N/m my mirrors were just delivered. They are beautiful! I put my candles right on them. One even skid and did not leave any wax or marks.

Great idea! My Mother used to put felt on the bottom of many things.

Glad you like your mirrors. I think they are absolutely beautiful. I may use graycaysrule's suggestion and put a piece of felt under them. I have found that even flameless candles since they are real wax will leave a mark on wood and glass.

Re: ? about candles on mirrors

Just cut some rounds of thin cardboard like card stock. They aren't likely to make a mark on glass and if they did, you could easily rub it off. The mirror is on the underside; the top is just glass.
