Wow... I can see not liking it, but I guess I've never known decor to induce nausea...

Not sure why they did not incorporate another color into the yellow scheme. They need an accent color.

Re: Yellow Accents in the Living Room...

I will have to revert to what Marilyn Monroe once said-'before you leave the house, look in a full length mirror and if something stands out, get rid of it.' This room makes the eye go to only the yellow pieces. It's too much yellow and standing out doesn't begin to describe it.

The lampshades and urn are jarring shades of yellow that disrupt the otherwise peacefulness of the room. Not a fan of the drapes either.

Re: Yellow Accents in the Living Room...

I always like looking at the pictures that people post, but all the rooms always look so formal and cluttered to me.  Am I the only person who has more relaxed furnishings and doesn't need every space crammed with stuff?

I like soft yellow so most of this yellow is too bright to me but, this room looks like formal 1960's to me.

Why is it, when I have a 50/50 guess at something, I'm always 100% wrong?

Re: Yellow Accents in the Living Room...

@stevieb , I smiled when I saw the living room photo.  It was like seeing balls of sunshine throughout the room.  The placements of the bright yellows and the blues, along with the rest of the furniture arrangements and design, result in an incredibly well-balanced visual.  And the photographer did a great job of capturing that.  The yellow urn and the blue obelisk look particularly nice in relation to each other and the way they frame the fireplace

Thanks.

Re: Yellow Accents in the Living Room...

I like yellow, but there's too much of it in this space. The bright yellow accessories are my least favorite items. Many of the furnishings themselves are too formal for me.

I like the sofa. I would put that piece in my sunroom.
