The back patting and self congrats get to be a bit much almost every time she's presenting...

@Zita  And  @stevieb,

I agree with both of you. I find that ED does that too. I'll never forget some of the items that were presented on her shows last year...like the letter signs with lights on them. ED insisted they were her idea, and yet I had seen them online at several other retailers under different company/manufacturer names.

@Susan Louise @Zita @stevie  That's just it---Jill's and ED's style seem to blend into ONE, and then add in products that are similar to other vendor's such as Home Reflections, Candle Impressions, and Luminara no matter how "original" they think their item is......it's just more of the same.  As Susan stated I've seen that lighted letter idea in many catalogs I receive---and even the item's Jill offers are sometimes a Qified version of a product found elsewhere---not very unique!  Although I'm primarily a Valerie Parr Hill style person, I do like to include a few pieces to make it a bit unpredictable and make it a tad eclectic too.....

@Spurt  Well stated...exactly! She even presented several of those companies you mentioned including ED candles during the last show. I really don't see much that is unique she brings other than maybe the Byer's Choice pieces.

I will still watch her shows from time to time, but not as enthusiastically as other decor shows.

@Susan Louise  I will probably watch too---since home decor shows are SCARCE these days---not only on QVC but on HGTV as well, and I like getting some ideas by watching..... Now if QVC would only let the ladies here on the HOME FORUM have a show ..... that is what I really want to see!!!! Smiley Happy

I like that Jill gives a solid presentation with limited hyperbole, and she has sincere interest in design.  But I will indeed have to start a drinking game every time she says "I created," "my kids helped design," and "my beach house,"  -- oh that's right, summer will be over by then. I don't like kitschy/homespun decor (those figures that sound like her last name give me the willies), but she does show a few things I often like.  I like her hosting style, but with almost all the shows now, I just wish for different items (and to remember my bottle of Tequila when I'm watching).

The real treat from QVC, in my opinion, would have been Alberti's Decor Show!!  His style leans more towards Lisa's style, and that's my style as well.  I guess I can only hope new pieces end up in Jill's shows.

@Caaareful Shopper  be careful shopper (no pun intended Smiley Wink) I got a post poofed once for mentioning a certain house by the shore and an artificial tree named for a family member... Woman LOL

Good tip SPURT, thank you!

I'm going to say Yipee for another regularly scheduled home show (even if it just goes through the holidays). We need as many of those as we can get!

I don't mind Jill being the host (although I think they should have let Alberti do it), but I think that this being the case, tells us that a whole show of "Lisa Robertson style type decor" is now out of the question, at least in this time slot. It's just not Jill, and I don't think they would have put her in to host a show like Lisa's was.

So we are either only going to get a piece here and a set there of things that were of the "Lisa Robertson style", or they are planning to keep a show of that style going, but in some other time slot, and aren't advertising it yet. I put my money on the first. I think we will see an occasional thing here or there, but no real and complete shows that mirror what Lisa did last year.

Stupid move Q. There were a lot of people interested in it, and you should have developed a series of  shows for at least 6 weeks or so, that centered on that more elegant look in Christmas/winter decor. Big mistake, in my opinion.

My request is to let Valerie Parr Hill show the LR type decor all by herself.  She can carry a show just fine without a host.  I could watch two hours of her every week.  Please, QVC, you could make a lot of us happy.

@Caaareful Shopper,  You are so right.  I think somebody toots their own horn a little too much.  I always leave the show early, can only take so much.  I'll be saving some money this year if that's the way it's going to be.

I can watch YHJ for only a short time and I have to move on.  The set is usually nothing special to look at or get ideas from, IMHO.  Just not my style.

Did anyone here go to the YHJ weekend that happened recently?
