stevieb,  I am surely not a big fan of jill as I have stated tons of times myself,  but love christmas items so it will be hard pressed to not watch these shows as much as I would love it if Alberti or Jane as Peter posted, would be presenters.  qvc has made up there minds that Jill will have that Friday slot and the christmas shows.  I don't know exactly why as there are others with great decorating stlye which is much more my style but they have.

So it would appear, and I've made up mine...

Besdies, I already have enough holiday decor to decorate mulitple houses, so I clearly don't need more! I did enjoy Lisa's holiday shows but don't enjoy Jill in the least, so while I'll not say I won't watch a minute of it, I won't be watching much. If the whole idea is to enjoy watching, I mean really, why would!?

I also tend not to prefer the types of rather kitschy items QVC seems to favor these days. For the past few years, there's been a choice of decorating styles, either Jill's more folksy approach or Lisa's more glamorous approach. While I like aspects of both of them, I'm not particulalry interested in a steady diet of only one of them, which more times than not simply means more of the same...

I'm no longer a fan of the kitschy, homey, country style of Jill.  I hope someone with have decor with a more elegant style..

The back patting and self congrats get to be a bit much almost every time she's presenting...

@Zita  And  @stevieb,

I agree with both of you. I find that ED does that too. I'll never forget some of the items that were presented on her shows last year...like the letter signs with lights on them. ED insisted they were her idea, and yet I had seen them online at several other retailers under different company/manufacturer names.

I like that Jill gives a solid presentation with limited hyperbole, and she has sincere interest in design.  But I will indeed have to start a drinking game every time she says "I created," "my kids helped design," and "my beach house,"  -- oh that's right, summer will be over by then. I don't like kitschy/homespun decor (those figures that sound like her last name give me the willies), but she does show a few things I often like.  I like her hosting style, but with almost all the shows now, I just wish for different items (and to remember my bottle of Tequila when I'm watching).

The real treat from QVC, in my opinion, would have been Alberti's Decor Show!!  His style leans more towards Lisa's style, and that's my style as well.  I guess I can only hope new pieces end up in Jill's shows.

well it's offical ,  Jill is taking over Lisa robertson's Friday night christmas decorating shows.  I happened to tune in and jill was saying how she would be doing Friday nights coming up as well as wednesday.

@Kitty Galore

Thank you. I didn't have a chance to watch the show.

I don't mind who is hosting, I watch for ideas for the stuff I already have for decorating. My husband hates cutesy anything, I'm hoping Jill doesn't go that way, but shows us different styles than her usual.

I'm just hoping to see some of the same elegant type items that Lisa presented,  it is more my style of decorating.  Not sure jill will bring that in her shows.  Maybe she will , will have to wait and see.  I know I want that ivory sleigh, the reindeer she mentioned that would go with and the santa.  Whatever else I will have to see about.  Don't care who does the shows as long as the items are wonderful.

@ITA  I think Jill's decorating style gets enough exposure with her YOUR HOME WITH JILL shows.  The thing I enjoyed about Lisa's shows it gave the customer an opportunity to see and purchase merchandise for a DIFFERENT type of decorating style!!!!  QVC's home decor items/vendors seems to blend into one another and are becoming rather repetitive.  I would enjoy seeing something UNIQUE and a VARIETY of decor items.....

Lately I've found YHJ shows rather predictable and repetitive in the products she brings---and more and more it seems more concentrated on entertaining, recipes, and cooking and her DYI project than actual home decor pieces.. ....and it's always some type of bed sheets or a throw, a candle, a recipe, kitchen items, and a decor piece we've already seen many times, and then there's her Beyer's Choice item.....

Her shows should be what the CUSTOMERS like/want and NOT Jill's personal choices.....and after all, quite a few of Lisa's items were big sell outs......I loved just looking at the sets---if I recall correctly Valerie and her staff did the decorating!!!

@PeterDM  ITA chosing Alberti or even Jayne would have brought something different.  I don't see Alberti much, but caught one decor show he did and thought it was very nice! And I saw a blog where he posted photos and I think he did an EXCELLENT job!!!

@Susan Louise @Zita @stevie  That's just it---Jill's and ED's style seem to blend into ONE, and then add in products that are similar to other vendor's such as Home Reflections, Candle Impressions, and Luminara no matter how "original" they think their item is......it's just more of the same.  As Susan stated I've seen that lighted letter idea in many catalogs I receive---and even the item's Jill offers are sometimes a Qified version of a product found elsewhere---not very unique!  Although I'm primarily a Valerie Parr Hill style person, I do like to include a few pieces to make it a bit unpredictable and make it a tad eclectic too.....
