YC tart or votive melted?

Which has the best "throw" or do you notice any difference?

I visited my daughter this past weekend and she took me to her mall that has a YC store. I don't have one nearby so I buy Slatkin candles from my BBW. She had recently bought a Scentsy warmer (and one for me, too. YAY!) and she wanted to try the YC tarts while they were on sale. When she started picking out the tarts that she wanted, I told her what I had read on this site about how a lot of you get the votives and cut them in half and get 2 for the price of one. A sales clerk overheard our conversation and said that the tarts had more fragrance oils in them than the votives, so they would put off more fragrance to a larger area. I don't know if she is right. What do you think? Has anyone compared the two to find out? TIA
